How big is your family?
There’s six of us, one brother, two sisters and my parents.

If you were an animal which one would it be?
Why do you have to ask such a hard question? I’d be a gorilla, they’re badass! Everyone wants to be a gorilla.

What’s your favourite pastime?
I like watersports – wakeboarding, waterskiing, that sort of thing. I only get to do it in the summer, though.

Who would play you in a biopic about your life?
Steve McQueen!

What was your best subject at school?
Italian! I’m not fully fluent, but I’m pretty good! My family comes from there.

Tell us one thing nobody knows about you…
I really don’t know! I like to travel, I’m always on a plane and a lot of my friends live in different countries, so it’s nice to go and see them and meet up.

What’s your strangest talent or dinner-party trick?
To be honest with you, I have really bad hand-eye coordination, so I’m really bad at most sports! My strangest talent is probably how good I am on a wakeboard – I really love it, although I’ve had some epic wipe-outs…

Favourite person to follow on Twitter/Instagram?
I love the Formula 1 and IndyCar accounts, they’re always great to follow and keep me up to date.

Favourite moment of a race?
Probably the first lap and the start – you can win or lose quite a bit there. I quite enjoy that.

Worst thing you’ve ever heard over the radio?
“Shut the eff up and get your head down!” It was in Belgium last year, actually…I came on the radio after an incident and said there was no contact, and was told “keep your head down…oh, and improve the middle sector!”

Name something that your engineer keeps telling to do?
Improve those brake shapes! Basically, that’s just “improve your braking!”

Have you ever been on your own Wikipedia page?
No? Do I even have one? [GP3: Yes, you do…] I’m quite keen to see this! Ah, no way! [laughs] I think it’s all correct…

What’s the weirdest dream you’ve ever had?
I’ve had some really weird ones, but I don’t really remember them, you wake up and you forget them. Actually, I’ve thought of one – I think I’ve jumped out of a plane with no parachute because I thought I’d land in the water!

Where do you keep your trophies?
A lot of them are at home, on a shelf somewhere…
